Research Consortia? reviews are undertaken as part of the Foundation? and industry co-funded Consortia investment process.
As of February 2008, there are 11 Research Consortia.
Consortia are overseen by the Consortia’s board of directors, which is made up of both industry and research organisation representatives. The Foundation invests up to 50 percent in each research consortia.
After the first year of the contract, a review of the governance structure is undertaken with a business consultant.
A review of the research and business strategies is undertaken at year three or four by an expert panel. The Consortia may partner with the Foundation for the mid-term review. The expert panel is asked to assess performance to date and expectation of delivery by the end of the contract in the context of both the science and business strategy.
