Research organisations, including universities, crown research institutes and private organisations doing research for the wider benefit of New Zealand.

1.3 Internationally competitive science skills
New Zealand develops and maintains internationally competitive science skills in areas associated with the Future Human Technologies (FHT) portfolio.
1.4 Uncertainties associated with new technologies
Research leading to improved understanding of environmental, health, safety and socio-economic uncertainties is associated with technologies emerges from the Future Human Technologies (FHT) portfolio.
