The Foundation’s TechNZ programme provides up to $50 million to New Zealand businesses each year to develop new technology-based products, processes and services. It also supports businesses to build skills and knowledge to carry out leading edge research and development.

We provide partial funding to cover the costs of research and development projects which will lead to significant business growth.

To-date, TechNZ investments of $450 million have helped out around 4,500 New Zealand businesses. After 10 years of operation it was time to revamp TechNZ. As part of the redevelopment we surveyed New Zealand businesses, who told us they wanted a flexible, simple support system with less jargon and less paperwork. Consequently, we’ve simplifed TechNZ from 12 support schemes into one single programme and we’ll be rolling out further improvements as we put the new processes into place.

Committed founders and company management who have enthusiasm, integrity, and a deep understanding of the market. These are people who will have a strong clear vision for their companies to be world leaders in their market with products, processes or services that deliver customer value.
