An overview:
Applying for funding

  1. Download the investment signal (the first part of the Request for Proposals) and check your research area matches what we are planning to invest in. Some years we only invest in some of a portfolio’s target outcomes (or themes, if applicable).

What if my research area doesn't match this investment signal?
Go back to the QuickSearch page to find research funding in your area or, if you have a research office, talk to them.

  2. Download the application guidelines (the second part of the Request for Proposals) and familiarise yourself with the process and the information that will be required.

Talk to your research office to start planning your proposal or contact your Foundation? business manager.

  3. Log onto MyFRST? and create your proposal (if you have a research office, they may do this for you). Make sure you log in and create your proposal at least two weeks before it is due.

  4. Read the assessment criteria closely in the application guidelines and check that your proposal answers all the key questions. Revise your proposal, if necessary.

Submit your proposal (if you have a research office, they may do this for you).

If your proposal is successful, we will develop a research contract with you.

  5. Start your research.
