The members of the Advisory Group who will assess the concepts and proposals for the Low Carbon Energy Technologies (LCET?) 2007/08 investment process are listed below.

Background
Chris Baker
Chris holds a BSc (Hons) and an MBA (1994) from Otago University. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Chris is a Director and Consultant with Saunders Unsworth Ltd, the government relations and advocacy firm based in Wellington. He is the Executive Chairman of the Coal Association of New Zealand, an independent Director of Auzex Resources Ltd (listed on the Australian Stock Exchange) and provides consulting services to industry and business in the resource, energy and other sectors. A particular area of expertise is Climate Change and environmental strategy.
Jo Buckner
Jo Buckner is a senior official involved in the development and implementation of sustainable energy and climate change policy. She has also worked on the environmental impacts of transport and has previous private sector supply chain management experience.
As Principal Advisor – Energy with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) she is working to progress energy innovation in the rural sector. A key focus of her role is to see distributed electricity generation from renewable energy sources established as a viable alternative to lines supply in rural areas.
During 2006/07 Jo led the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) team developing the replacement New Zealand Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy (NZEECS). The NZEECS was developed in tandem with the New Zealand Energy Strategy (NZES). Before that, as Group Manager – Environment, she managed the development of the Ministry of Transport’s environmental policy team. Prior to joining the public sector in 2002, Jo held the role of Order Fulfillment Director at Fletcher Wood Panels (FWP) in Auckland.
Jo has a postgraduate qualification in Natural Resource Management in addition to a first degree in Business Studies.
She is a member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and holds the office of New Zealand Councillor. She is also a member and previous office holder of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Roger Fairclough
Roger Fairclough holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) and is a member of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ). He has broad experience across engineering design, petroleum sector construction, high rise building construction, power station investigations, electricity generation national fuels management, wholesale electricity market implementation, commercialisation of new technologies, establishment of new commercial entities, management consulting, power station construction and commissioning, national energy data and projections, infrastructure resilience, emissions trading and energy policy. He has been a Company Director and is currently Manager Fuels and Crown Resources at the Ministry of Economic Development, with oil, gas, geothermal, bioprospecting and biofuels responsibilities.
Robert Tromop
Robert Tromop is Manager Monitoring and Technical at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority. He has more than 13 years experience at EECA in energy efficiency and related fields, covering technical and analytical aspects of energy efficiency projects in the commercial and industrial sectors including policy and programme design, operation and evaluation. Robert leads EECA's monitoring and research activities, tracking changes in energy use, energy efficiency and renewable energy change across the New Zealand economy. Until recently, he led New Zealand's product efficiency regulatory programme. Prior to this position, he held roles in the development of New Zealand’s first National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy and a regional engineering and programme support role. Robert has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
