Confidentiality

All material supplied to the Foundation? in Technology New Zealand applications for funding is treated with the strictest confidence. Foundation staff, expert reviewers and advisory group members are required to sign confidentiality agreements.

A limited amount of information must be made public in the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology's report to Parliament, namely:

• the name of the applicant(s)
• the industrial sector
• ownership
• the size of the business (small, medium or large)
• amount of funding awarded, and the year, amount and duration of any previous Technology New Zealand grants
• the title of the project (chosen by the applicant).

All other information arising from the application and any subsequent reports relating to the application or contract is kept confidential in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 or any other statutory or evidentiary requirements.

Information disclosed to the Foundation or made public in the Foundation's report to Parliament should not prejudice any application for intellectual property protection. However, applicants should seek the advice of intellectual property specialists.
