Optima’s early global success is with Siren (Simulation for Improved Response for Emergency Networks), a product developed for emergency services, ensuring ambulances find the quickest route to call-outs.
Fronde Anywhere has developed technology to generate one time passwords via an application downloaded to mobile phones. It allows banks to offer secure services to customers wanting to use online banking services anywhere, anytime. Its technology is already in production in the UK, France and South Africa.
ZyGEM Corporation has developed enzymatic tools which are being used internationally to extract DNA initially for forensic testing and livestock genetics. Its products are based on microbial cultures isolated from extreme temperature locations, including the cold deserts of Antarctica? and the boiling mud pools of New Zealand.
Auckland’s Endace Limited has grown in seven years into a world leader in high speed network monitoring systems. Its technology monitors the security, integrity and performance of communications networks by capturing, inspecting and reporting data to pass to Endace and other software applications for further analysis.
Winners are entitled to use a special "mark of excellence" to promote their product or service.
Foundation? Chief Executive Murray Bain said the 2007 winners demonstate New Zealand’s depth of innovation and creativity, and show how New Zealand companies can succeed globally using their intellectual property to target niche opportunities.
